But, I'll reply here as well. You said you are using Oracle, it sound like you may not have some values defaulted as with the Access db. ie accesslevel, etc. What other modifications were needed to get CF Forum working with Oracle? It even does not work if change to 2. It also sounds the search does not work very well but the problem is not as critical the this one. The administrator set up the forums to be only viewable by admins/moderators. Thus, new users were not able to view any forums or topics.
